February 2006
My apologies to those people who had to wait a couple of weeks for a reply to their submissions. January was a hectic month me, but everything is back on track now and we'll be able to assure potential contributors of a two week response time.
January 2006
Issue Three is up and out there in the big, wide world. It's packed with great pieces and I know you'll love it. Submissions are being taken for Issue Four.
I'd also like to say a big thank you to everyone who has read; bought; written for or even taken an interest in; Ripples. It wouldn't be the same without you.
December 2005
I'd just like to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a safe and festive New Year.
October 2005
Wow! I can't believe that we're already at
issue two! Doesn't time just fly! That means that we're welcoming submissions for issues three and four right now.
Just lately I've had a few enquiries from people overseas wanting to both submit and subscribe to Ripples Magazine. I'm incredibly flattered by the worldwide interest, but wasn't really anticipating it so soon.
I standby Ripples Magazine as a medium for Australian writers only, that's never going to change. But I will look into allowing overseas subscribers. There's no reason why we should deny the world a look at just how talented we Aussies are!
September 2005
Hello again. We're getting very close to our second issue and things are looking good. I've received some really great poetry and a couple of interesting little stories, but we're a little light on artwork submissions at the moment.
So if you know anyone who's got an art folio hidden behind the sofa but is a little shy, then encourage them a little. I assure you that we don't bite!
July 2005
Jubilant! That's the only way to describe the feeling here as we proudly posted our
premiere issue to our submitters and subscribers. I hope you're all as delighted as we are. There are some terrific stories in there to keep you on your toes.
I'd like to thank everyone who submitted their works; we couldn't have done it without you. I look forward with great anticipation to selecting the next batch for our October issue. I know it's going to be tough choosing from so much talent, but I'll give it my best shot.
May 2005
The subscription page has finally been completed, with a price list included.
March 2005
Thanks to our wonderful Supporters, submissions are starting to roll in. Woo Hoo! And we are delighted to confirm that the first edition will be available in July.
February 2005
Due to the fact that we have received less submissions than we hoped, the first edition of Ripples Magazine has been rescheduled. We hope to be able to publish in July.
We apologise for keeping you all in suspense, and hope to hear from you soon.
November 2004 -- "Welcome!"
Welcome to the Ripples Magazine website. We here at Ripples hope that you'll have a little look around and feel free to make yourself at home. Very soon we'll be surrounded by a bustling hive of activity, but for now we'd like to let you know what we've got planned.
This magazine will be a showcase for creative short fiction, poetry and illustrations in the Science Fiction, Horror and Fantasy genres. We're looking for something special from our incredibly talented Australian artists. We'll start out small, just an A5, black and white magazine, with a print run of less than 500. But we're confident that our subscriber base will grow in time.
Right now we're looking for submissions for our premiere issue which is due out in March 2005. We hope to hear from you soon.
